Good Friends, Karsen Scott & Alex Gilles - a Concert at Slide Ranch!

Come on over to Slide Ranch on Saturday, August 8th, for an evening of live music with Bolinas band Good Friends, as well as locals Karsen Scott of Give Me A Dollar performing with Alex Gilles. With sound production by sunhouse records. We’ll gather in the garden under the cypress tree, amongst the abundance of the summer harvest. Bring a picnic, bring your friends and family, and enjoy the sweetness. 

Good Friends is Jerome Porter and Eva Parr– two tender hearted weirdos with an affinity for songwriting and singing harmonies. Their music rides the line of strange and familiar, somewhere you swear you've been before but just can't place. They live together in Bolinas, California and write folk songs about the great mystery, the human condition, and their dogs.

Karsen and Alex are two songwriters from Marin who’ve just recently begun playing together. They’re excited to be combining their styles for this set, adding harmonies and new dimensions to one another’s songs, and maybe tackling a country cover or two. Call it folk, indie, alternative… or call it two girlfriends doing their thing: two guitars, two voices, two hearts. 

This event is made possible with support from the West Marin Fund, as part of a collaborative effort to bring the creations of West Marin artists to Slide Ranch and to the community. It is rooted in the spirit of gathering together in gardens and on land, to celebrate what truly nourishes us. 

DATE & TIME: Saturday, August 8. Garden gate opens at 5:00pm; performance at 6:00pm. 

COST: Sliding Scale tickets starting at $22 adults, $10 kids 12 and under. Limited tickets available. Sliding Scale made possible by West Marin Fund support. Choosing a higher price ticket directly funds youth scholarships for Slide Ranch programs. Choose the price point that aligns with your capacity.

WHAT TO BRING: 

• Bring extra layers! Slide is located on the coast and experiences weather variations, from golden sun to shrouding fog – bring layers to stay comfortable throughout the evening 

• Comfortable walking shoes 

• Waterbottle 

• A picnic blanket and/or chairs. Slide Ranch will also provide some chair seating. 

• A picnic! 

• Headlamp/flashlight 

PLEASE CARPOOL! Slide Ranch has very limited parking, so carpooling is necessary. You may park at the overlook on HWY 1, and carpool to Slide from there.  Looking for added adventure? Hike in 1 mi on the Owl Trail from the Muir Beach Overlook. 

Please note that dogs are not allowed at Slide Ranch. Please leave your pups at home for this one. 

Cancellation and Change Policy: Tickets are refundable, if your cancellation is made at least 14 days prior to the event/program/workshop, minus a $15 fee. Cancellations made within 14 days of the event/program/workshop WILL NOT be eligible for a refund.  Tickets cannot be transferred to a different event.
