PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT.
This Release and Waiver of Liability releases Slide Ranch, a nonprofit corporation organized and existing under the law of the State of California and each of its directors, officers, employees, and agents ("Slide Ranch").
The Participant desires to participate in Slide Ranch's chicken processing workshop and engage in activities related to learning about and participating in the humane processing of chickens. The Participant understands that participation in this workshop is voluntary and that the Participant is responsible for his/her own insurance coverage in the event of personal injury or illness as a result of participation in the workshop activities.
The Participant hereby freely, voluntarily, and without duress executes this Release under the following terms:
Release and Waiver
The Participant does hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless Slide Ranch and its successors and assigns from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from the Participant's participation in the chicken processing workshop. The Participant understands that this Release discharges Slide Ranch from any liability or claim that the Participant may have against Slide Ranch with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from participation in workshop activities, whether caused by the negligence of Slide Ranch or its officers, directors, employees, or agents or otherwise. The Participant also understands that Slide Ranch does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health, or disability insurance in the event of injury or illness.
Medical Treatment
The Participant does hereby release and forever discharge Slide Ranch from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first aid, treatment, or service rendered in connection with the Participant's participation in the chicken processing workshop.
Assumption of Risk
The Participant understands that the chicken processing workshop includes activities that may be hazardous to the Participant, including, but not limited to, handling of live animals, use of sharp tools and equipment, potential exposure to animal-borne pathogens, physical exertion, and outdoor activities in varying weather conditions. The Participant acknowledges that chicken processing involves the humane slaughter of live animals and processing of raw meat, which carries inherent risks including but not limited to cuts, puncture wounds, exposure to blood and other bodily fluids, and potential foodborne illness. The Participant agrees to follow all food safety procedures and guidelines provided by Slide Ranch staff during the workshop. The Participant understands that this workshop is for educational purposes only and that no processed meat or food products will be sold or distributed for commercial purposes. The Participant hereby expressly and specifically assumes the risk of injury or harm in these activities and releases Slide Ranch from all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage resulting from participation in the workshop.
Insurance
The Participant understands that, except as otherwise agreed to by Slide Ranch in writing, Slide Ranch does not carry or maintain health, medical, or disability insurance coverage for any workshop participant. Each Participant is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own medical or health insurance coverage.
Photographic Release
The Participant does hereby grant and convey unto Slide Ranch all right, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video or audio recordings made by Slide Ranch during the workshop, including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs or recordings.
General Provisions
The Participant expressly agrees that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of California, and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California. The Participant agrees that in the event that any clause or provision of this Release shall be held to be invalid by any court or competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining provisions of this Release which shall continue to be enforceable.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Tickets are refundable, if your cancellation is made at least 14 days prior to the event/program/workshop, minus a $15 fee. Cancellations made within 14 days of the event/program/workshop WILL NOT be eligible for a refund. Tickets cannot be transferred to a different event.
